Welcome to MoLan ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the MoLan application, website, and our real-time AI character voice chat services (collectively, the "Services").

A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, username, and password.
- Audio and Voice Data: To enable real-time voice conversations with our animated AI characters, we collect the audio recordings of your voice while you are actively using the microphone feature in the app.
- Chat Transcripts: We collect the text transcripts generated from your voice interactions, as well as any text messages you type to the characters.
- Payment Information: If you purchase Virtual Currency or a subscription, your payment and billing information is collected and processed directly by our secure third-party payment processors. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.
- Support Communications: Information you provide when contacting us for troubleshooting, feedback, or support.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device and Technical Data: We collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, operating system, device model, app version, and language settings to ensure the app functions correctly on your device.
- Usage Data: We track general interaction metrics, such as session lengths, features utilized, and character preferences, to help us improve the user experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate, improve, and secure our Services:
- Providing the Core Service: To convert your voice to text, generate AI character responses, and synthesize the character's voice in real-time.
- Debugging and Reliability (Audio Data): Your original audio recordings are temporarily saved on our secure servers for a maximum of 24 hours strictly for debugging and technical troubleshooting purposes. After 24 hours, these audio files are permanently deleted.
- AI Model Training (Transcripts Only): We use the anonymized text transcripts of your conversations to train, fine-tune, and improve our AI models so the characters can provide better, more contextual responses over time. We absolutely never use your original audio files or voice recordings to train our models.
- Account and Subscription Management: To process your payments, manage your subscription status, and provide customer support.
- Safety and Moderation: To monitor for abusive behavior, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain a safe environment.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. MoLan does not rely on advertising, and we do not share your data with third-party advertising networks.
We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- External AI Service Providers (ASR, LLM, TTS): To provide real-time, high-quality voice interactions, MoLan utilizes a wide range of industry-leading external APIs for Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Text-to-Speech (TTS). We securely transmit your voice data and text prompts to these third-party providers strictly for the purpose of processing your real-time conversation. We routinely update and rotate these providers to ensure the best possible performance and latency.
- Infrastructure Partners: We share necessary data with trusted third-party vendors who provide cloud hosting, database management, and payment processing.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if legally required to do so by law enforcement, subpoena, or to protect the safety, rights, and property of MoLan, our users, or the public.
4. Data Security and Retention
We implement robust, industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
- Audio Data: Retained for up to 24 hours for debugging, then permanently deleted.
- Transcripts and Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active to provide the Services and train our text models.
- Account Deletion: You may request to delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal profile data and identifiable information will be removed from our active systems within 30 days.
5. Age Requirements and NSFW Content
MoLan is a general audience application intended for users aged 13 and older (or the applicable minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- NSFW Content Gate: While the primary app is designed for a general audience, MoLan may offer certain Not Safe For Work (NSFW) or mature storylines and interactions. This content is strictly gated and hidden by default. Accessing this content requires explicit user opt-in and confirmation that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction).
